Can political dissidents be locked up for 'personality disorders'?

FTAC Watch drew my attention to the possibility of political dissidents being locked up under the Mental Health Act which this totalitarian government brought in.

The Fixated Threat Assessment Centre (FTAC), formed in 2006, is a partnership between the Police and the NHS.

Under the Mental Health Act, FTAC can section anyone. Say, for example, some politico finds your political views and activities troublesome but you haven't committed a crime, all they need do is have you interviewed by two doctors and if, in the doctors' opinions, you have a personality disorder the you can be sectioned - i.e., imprisoned - without recourse to habeas corpus, a lawyer. In effect, being sectioned strips you of all your civil rights.

Think it can't happen in Britain? This unscrupulous government has form, doesn't it?

Read the list of personality disorders and decide for yourself whether you might someday be detained - for your own good, of course - under the Mental Health Act, should some politico decide he/she doesn't like your blog or your campaigning activities.
