Evasiveness on an epic scale
There was I thinking that politicians couldn't get more slippery or mendacious than they've already shown themselves to be.

Political commentary from a libertarian perspective
“In a government of laws, the existence of the government will be imperiled if it fails to observe the law scrupulously. Our government is the potent, the omnipotent teacher. For good or ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. If government becomes a lawbreaker it breeds contempt for law: it invites every man to become a law unto himself. It invites anarchy.” -- Justice Louis Brandeis
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague." -- Marcus Tullius Cicero
When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion- When you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing- when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors- when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you- when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice- you may know that your society is doomed. -- Ayn Rand, 1958
"By a continuous process of inflation, governments can confiscate, secretly and unobserved, an important part of the wealth of their citizens. By this method, they not only confiscate, but they confiscate arbitrarily; and while the process impoverishes many, it actually enriches some ... The process engages all of the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and does it in a manner that not one man in a million can diagnose." -- John Maynard Keynes, Economic Consequences of the Peace, 1920
Politicians are wordsmiths, most deriving from journalism, law and PR. Their craft is words. Those who believe what they say are fools. Judge them by what they do, not by what they say. -- Anon
The truth is incontrovertible, malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end; there it is." -- Winston Churchill
"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable." -- JFK, John F Kennedy, 35th US President

These people are actually repulsive on every level, why in Gods name does ANYONE vote for such shameless hypocrites?
That they think these tactics will win over the public is incredible in itself. I suspect the goal is to keep Wendy Alexander from censure / penalty.
Can't see Labour doing well at the GE in any part of the UK - not even in Scotland.
God, these people are insufferable, Fausty! Anyone who votes for this lot is either thick or has an agenda.
They say that somewhere out there is a bullet with your name on it.
As I said at Spidey's place it will be spit roasting time soon and my collection of skewers with names on grows daily.
If they allowed us to off these types could we moonlight for the NWO? I'm more than convinced that even they can't stand this vile midwifery for the spawn of Satan's minions.
Look at her threadbare CV and see the result of Proportional Representation -

Mediocrity on an epic scale !
Sorry Fausty, can't be arsed to listen to that silly cow droning on for eight whole minutes.
Agreed, Spidie, only the brainless or raving lefties would vote for that bag of spin!
A bullet's too good for her, Incoming! She's one of the useful idiots and I'll be following her career with morbid interest.
YO, her MSP page doesn't give much more info - doesn't say what she did prior to 1999 (she was born in 1964).
Banned, I haven't watched Brown on TV for months, for that very reason!
I haven't worked out an exact chronology , Faustie , but it looks like her work experience has been minimal .
From posh school in England (hence her plummy vowels) she'd have started Uni a year later than most Scots .
She didn't , however , going first to the ivory towers of Cumbernauld College - sounds like she was too thick to get into anywhere else and had to re-sit her Highers/A levels . Maybe she even did an HNC - so that takes us up to 1984 on her CV .
After that Strathclyde Uni - 4 year course (up to 1988) , followed by a couple of post-grad years doing some social policy pish (gives us 1990) .
Next thing on her official CV is being draughted in to the Scottish Parliament as a Junior Minister in 1999 .
It seems highly likely , therefore , that she worked for some part of the slimy , corrupt Labour machine in those missing 9 years .
It does indeed.
