There was I thinking that politicians couldn't get more slippery or mendacious than they've already shown themselves to be.

YO, her MSP page doesn't give much more info - doesn't say what she did prior to 1999 (she was born in 1964).

From posh school in England (hence her plummy vowels) she'd have started Uni a year later than most Scots .
She didn't , however , going first to the ivory towers of Cumbernauld College - sounds like she was too thick to get into anywhere else and had to re-sit her Highers/A levels . Maybe she even did an HNC - so that takes us up to 1984 on her CV .

After that Strathclyde Uni - 4 year course (up to 1988) , followed by a couple of post-grad years doing some social policy pish (gives us 1990) .

Next thing on her official CV is being draughted in to the Scottish Parliament as a Junior Minister in 1999 .

It seems highly likely , therefore , that she worked for some part of the slimy , corrupt Labour machine in those missing 9 years .; 8 November 2009 16:56
