Mind The Language

I'm beside myself.  Taxed, fined, penalised, threatened - and all with our own money.  Why do we let them get away with it?  WHY?
Massive expansion of the Big Brother state is planned.  The £200million-a-year sum will give officials access to details of every internet click made by every citizen - on top of the email and telephone records already available.
Here's the latest cattle prod up the taxpayers' collective backside:
A Home Office spokesman said the costs involved were entirely separate from those necessary to comply with the European Data Retention Directive, which requires the storage of phone and email records.
Comfuckingpletely ripping us off
Enfuckingtirely wrong
Unconfuckingditionally authoritarian
Comprefuckinghensively undemocratic

European Data Retention Directive 32006L0024 Directive 2006/24/EC
Intercept Modernisation Programme
EU DRD condemned

How much hard drive will they get for three quid a head ? How will they pay and supervise all the bored fuckers recruited to sift through it all ?

They're utterly deluded. Where would the funding come from?

Direct taxation?
Indirect taxation (printing even more money)?

Clarles Clark has written a piece at OH's. It's clear that he thinks Labour's 'achievements' are positive and how he wants to improve on them.

I take it, from your piece, GV, that this is one of the 'improvements' the Labour party would seek.

They might not like the way the apparatus they createed for surveillance will be used against them, once they're out of power.

And how will Cameron respond to this? My guess is he'll condemn it in muted tones, then go along with it when in government.

I'm getting increasingly wary about the web, especially blogging.

Nevermind, it's too late for me now, I might as well carry on!

Gigits, google the Tor network and others which work on a similar principle.

Why do you think so many of OHs contributors are anon these days or 'unlinked' ?

Indeed, Banned. But they can still be traced unless they are taking precautions.

The "nothing to hide, nothing to fear" brigade should consider:

I speak my mind on my blog because I want to be heard, but if some politico, who has more power than s/he should have, takes a dislike to what we say, s/he might decide to be a tad vindictive. Any number of ways that could be achieved.

i had a dog named fido and i was walking him around the neighborhood, when we spotted this man kiking his dog. well this made fido very angry and he ran over to the dog and wet and pooped on him. the man surprised gave his dog one more kik and the poop got onto his pant leg.he looked at me in anger and said:" whyd your @#*& dog poop on me?" i replied: he didnt, he just placed it where it would get on you if you continued kiking your dog. not believing he retorted:" dogs arent that smart". well he stooped over to clean the soiled leg, his dog got up behind him and when the man looked between his legs, at his dog, it raised its leg and peed. the pee catching the man in the face. i said" nah its liberal dogs that dont learn, progressives learn quite well."
