Recall all those mad dog conspiracy theorists (oops, I'm one) who said that RFID for dogs and cats (for their saftey, of course and because you love them) were just the thin end of the wedge?Verichip are now advertising RFID chips for humans - for their safety, of course - and because we love them.
First animals, then Alzheimers patients then ... children? To keep them safe, naturally.
How soon before it is compulsory for Alzheimers patients to have RFID chips before they receive treatment? The excuse will bethat their records follow them, so if they get lost, we can find them and they can be treated by any doctor, regardless of where they end up. Because they care.
How soon before children are not permitted to go to school unless they're chipped? Might these chips have swine flu shot information on them, such that no child can enter a public place because he needs proof that he's had his shots?
Our country's in a state of disrepair because we trust whatever we're told by advertisers and by governments. Join the dots and ask questions.
This is Orwellian surveillance by the back door.
Say NO now - don't let this get a toe-hold. Refuse the chip at all costs. Once Verichip and its ilk start production in earnest - building that new plant, purchasing materials and pumping money into advertising, you can be sure that they will be lobbying politicians hard, so as not to lose money on their investments.
Then, before we know it, the government has slipped a few innocuous looking clauses into a seemingly unrelated bill, none of our supine politicians notices - because they don't read the bl00dy things - and then we have a devil of a time trying to get rid of it.

Fausty this is the cherry on the top of the control grid cake. Pop this little beauty under your skin and you've surrendered personal sovereignty. This thing completes the circuit and you'll never know if you truly are you.
True, Incomeing.
All things become possible with this beauty. For all we know its reprogrammable. Once people start to accept this, the cashless society will make its debut.
Won't they be doing the pedos and other dangerous criminals like dog foulers and bus stop smokers before the kiddies, for our safety ?
@INCOMING-- You are right and I am very much concern with your view.
True. Which might be why it is now so easy to be branded a paedophile.
Their dragnet is wide and getting wider by the day.
Frightening Fausty! I must admit, my dogs are chipped - done about 15 years ago - 'for their safety' as you say. My cats aren't because in the meantime I heard of Dr Albrecht & started getting her newsletters - which, among other things highlighted the instances of tumours in chipped animals.
I've also been visiting various sites with details of preventing credit card/passport chips being 'read' by outsiders - any posts on that?
My dog's also chipped - for the same reason, Anon.
Like you, I've been looking for ways of blocking RFID. Given that they require a frequency range in which to operate, jamming them should be possible.
There should be detectors and jammers available - will look into this.
