My PC just died - will be back soon
My PC has been acting up for months and it has finally keeled over. No power - nothing. No, it's not the power supply - it's the motherboard. The mobo has been killing peripherals for quite a time - probably shorting them. So it's fitting that the bastard is now dead.
RIP!
Be back soon.
RIP!
Be back soon.

May I commend to you crs-uk.biz?
Used them loads, secondhand but with a year guarantee.
No, it isn't an advert. But why pay stupid money for less?
JMHO
Thanks Uncle M. I'll bear them in mind.
While I'm an IT professional, I intensly dislike fixing my PC! Particularly hardware issues.
Me too. Bin and replace, have done so for years.
What's an IT professional? Maybe I'm one.
No, can't be. I'd have to wear a tie or something.
Fausty, true libertarians use mac :P
Here's hoping you get something sorted soon Fausty.
Uncle M, my uni said I was fit to write software and stuff, so I guess they might be right.
Then again, they also OKed me on hardware. [silent scream]
Hasan, I've been toying with that - unfortunately, there's always a PC with a better spec at a better price, available. One day I'll opt for quality. ;)
Jayce, thanks. Currently using a spare PC, which all nerds tend to have. It's cr*p and I don't have access to my data, but it works.
Oh. I didn't have a uni.
I'm unprofessional. Don't tell anyone, will you? I'd hate that to get all over the internets where anyone can read it.
:-) << unnecessary smiley
The university of life produces wise ones, Uncle M. Frequently more wise than the 'professionals' because they use their nogs and are not "repeaters".
Degrees are useful for CVs - not that it should matter to my generation - yet it does. Ridiculous.
Oh, I got round that one. I just put Ba, MSc, FRCO and bar on mine.
Nobody's ever read my CV though. I wait until someone's really in the shit and it's costing them megasquid per hour, and they've tried the Uni clones already.

Years ago I think Uni taught something. I know now that if I don't read up on new stuff about four hours a week minimum I'm left behind. You're as good as the last technology you worked on.
You got that right, Uncle M. :) Continuous education - defined by one' self.
one's self (correction)
"oneself"
As in himself, herself, myself.
I'm a stickler for grammar, innit?
Sorry. I know I'm a pain. I can be told to fuck off though, I'm not too fussed.
No, pain is sometimes welcome, Uncle M. :)
