The bloody history of Communism

Have the architects of communism succeeded in the West?

Don't the videos below show that the State is more dangerous to life and liberty than war?

And what if the State becomes so powerful that it can wage war at will? Who then is safe from it?

I watched those films, and my conclusion is that the theories of Harun Yahya are as dangerous and inaccurate as those of the villains that he demonised therein.

Harun Yahya is a Sunni Muslim... So was Sadaam Hussein.

The history of Christianity, Islam and all of the other "isms" is just as bloody.

The truth, nobody knows.

Nothing is perfect Fausty, but I reckon that my party (yours too by the looks of it) has the best compromise...

No, not the thing that everybody knows them for, although that is up there, but something that they never make much of, almost as if it is an add-on, an afterthought... Namely, Swiss style direct democracy.

The Swiss federation, is a mixture of religions, languages and traditions, the Swiss people are heavily armed and Swiss men are trained in their use and obliged to spend time training together. Their well developed system of democracy, which is available ONLY to fully paid up Swiss citizens, is backed up by this citizens' army.

The government, is as a result, consigned to become a functionary component of society with little to do but what the demos tells it to, as a result it is part time at the highest level and voluntary at the lower levels.

UKIP should (in my view) make much more of this policy.

A few cantons have granted long-term resident foreigners the right to vote, mainly only at communal level.

It is being discussed that this be spread to all Switzerland, and for all votes.

This is as demanded by the E.U.

If they do not follow E.U rules, they are not allowed to sell goods, or transport goods to, or through E.U countries. Which could make it a bit awkward, considering they are surrounded by the E.U.

Do not believe "world history according to the Daily Mail".

@Furor Teutonicus...

As I said in my first sentence...

"Nothing is perfect..."

Your final comment...

"Do not believe "world history according to the Daily Mail". "

is an insult sir.

If one wants to export to China, the USA or any other trading/power bloc, one has to follow the rules set out by that bloc... The EU would have to comply with Swiss regulations when exporting there.

Your comment does not equate to a failure of the Swiss system, it points to a pragmatic approach. If there is one thing that the EU isn't... It is pragmatic, it is idealistic and antidemocratic, and poses a threat equal to that of those portrayed in Fausty's video.

My point, is that unchecked and uncontrolled government is the biggest threat to human-kind, and the Swiss system is (by a country mile) the least threatening to the wellbeing of ordinary folk.

Should have made myself more clear, I agree.

My point really was, in a roundabout way, that just because you are not a member, does not mean they will not "get you".

They are intefering in the politics of Switzerland JUST as much as with the member countries. (Norway as well, but they were always a bit "more like us", so to speak.)

Yes, it's obviously compiled from a Muslim perspective, RW, but it is usually the victors who write the history books and I feel there is something to be gained by examining the info put about by the vanquished.

Totally agree about Swiss-style democracy. It doesn't get much better than that (except perhaps that provided for by a non-federal-type US constitution).

I hope we manage to persuade sufficient people to vote for UKIP at the next GE so that at the very least, UKIP can be kingmaker.

Very wise of them to do so, FT! If only we did the same!

Unless the EU manages to put an end to Switzerland's tax haven status, I doubt it will succeed in blackmailing Switzerland.

To WHICH of my posts, and WHICH part of that post does this apply?
