Facebook account disabled

... because it wants my real name - which it ain't getting, given it's track record of privacy violations.

So it's goodbye Facebook!

Update: Gmail keeps nagging for my mobile 'phone number and just recently, has stepped up efforts to get it.

Are we moving towards compulsory Internet IDs - without which access would be denied?

Interestingly, both Facebook and Google had delegates at the Bilderberg conference this year.

Indeed. I have an account, but it's been down quite a lot lately!

Facebook think they have my real name. Bwahahahahahahahahaha! Admittedly it's a bit of a pisser I can't user my normal nom de blog but they didn't ask for my driving licence or a utility bill so about all that's accurate on my FB account is my gender. If they'd asked my species I'd have probably lied about that as well.

It is a pisser, AE! FB has so many other 'issues' though, that it was the end of the road for me.

My blog feeds, when they do appear on FB, do so two days (sometimes) after the post was published and in a neutered form.

Traffic from FB has been poxy.

Plus privacy issues and the awful FB interface ...

The list is too long!

Yes, that's true about the UI and all the other issues, though of course many of them relate to privacy and security and so are only a problem if they have your real details. I'm not that fussed anyway. I only signed up to tell the 10:10 exploding children crowd that they're a bunch of dickheads and couldn't understand what the appeal of it is.
