Food labelling and Genetic Roulette

The furore surrounding the horse meat scandal has highlighted the need for accurate labelling on foodstuffs.  Without it, we don't know what we are eating and whether or not that food is harmful to us.

Consider genetically modified 'food' which, the government would have us believe, does not contaminate our food supply.  But how can they know, when most soy, corn and sugar sold in the world is genetically modified, nobody knows where all the ingredients really come from and there is no requirement for manufacturers to label their products to say whether or not it contains genetically modified material.

Geoffrey M Smith's:
"Genetic Roulette —The Gamble of Our Lives was just awarded the Top Transformational Film of 2012 by AwareGuide! More than 15,000 people from 50 countries voted for 30 films, including three on this year’s Academy Award shortlist. But Genetic Roulette was the “clear winner” by a wide margin."
